Worry-free, stylish waterproof flooring

Waterproof flooring becomes stress-free because every one of us experiences an appliance flood, burst pipe, spilled gallon of milk, or overturned (full, of course) glass or cup. Suddenly, these things don't become a challenge anymore because all you need to do is a quick wipe, and there'll be no damage. Imagine having the peace of mind knowing that you can go away for weeks, or even months, come home to a flood and still see that it will be okay!

Recent introductions mean more options

Waterproof vinyl flooring is a more advanced version of luxury vinyl, the latter already being five times thicker than the original one. It is engineered to be thicker, more durable and uses technologically advanced cores such as WPC (wood plastic composite) and SPC (stone plastic composite.). These cores won't peel or ripple ever, no matter how much water there is or for how long it stays submerged, and have a firmer, more rigid, and solid feeling like that of a hard surface.

Waterproof vinyl plank flooring is engineered luxury vinyl plank (LVP). The material is cut into strips and mounted on boards to mimic hardwood and uses the SPC core, and while this is ideal for residential use, it should be noted that SPC is so durable, it's often the core-of-choice for busy commercial spaces. These floors come in matte, gloss, or high gloss finishes.

Like all LVF, the floors are low maintenance, only requiring a regular (daily, if possible) sweeping and a periodic mopping with a manufacturer-approved cleaner. Avoid waxy, shine-promoting ones as they can damage the finish and dull the floor. Instead, installation can be a floating floor where pieces click together, mat, and hover over a subfloor without nails or glue.

Waterproof laminate flooring

A new version, entirely constructed without wood, makes this laminate product spill-proof, eliminating concerns about soaking and staining. Now you can use it in any room, including kitchens and baths where it was once avoided due to its wood composition. Original laminate is still very much sought after, so be sure to specify which version you want.
